Easter is Passion

Today I have been to a concert. It is Easter time so it is St. Matthew Passion time. I heard it today and will hear it again tomorrow. Both times in the Kreuzkirche in Dresden with the Kreuzchor and Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra.

Whenever I hear the first bars of that piece I get the shivers. It is so beautiful and I am drawn into the story and the music. Yes, it is long (more than 3 hours), but it is worth it! Here is the announcement of the concert.

The concert was very good, it will probably be even better tomorrow. The choir was better in the second half of the concert. The solists were brilliant, especially Patrick Grahl as the Evangelist, Elisabeth Meier the soprano and Sebastian Wartig the bass. The orchestra was exceptional again.
