On Saturday I have been to a musical at the open air theatre in Regent‘s Park in London: Little Shop of Horrors.
As preparation I watched the old B-movie from 1960 on which the musical is based – not the movie from the late eighties which is based on the musical. Funny thing about the B-movie is, that young Jack Nicholson plays a small role in it (the role did not make it into the musical), but the cover on the DVD leads you to believe that its is the main role.
Anyways, I was expecting an absurd story about a killer plant and some naive people. I was not disappointed! The stage was very colorful and the plant was sung by an amazing drag queen 😁
The music had some good tunes, not catchy tunes, though. But it was a lot of fun to see. I have been there to see one of the former Billys of course, who played in the ensemble, Josh Baker.
